It has been over 50 years since I visited the Philippines. I needed a transport company to take me and my asawa from Manila, North to Baguio, South East to the barangay of San Roque, and back to Manila: Enter Krian Transport.

From the beginning when I explained my itinerary, Krian was very helpful and understanding. We needed a driver for 4 days and 3 nights. We also needed a vehicle large enough to accommodate my asawa and I, as well as four large bags.

Our driver William J was excellent! Not only was he able to navigate the ultra heavy traffic of Manila, he was also able to navigate the windy incline/decline of the road to Baguio. In addition, William not only spoke Tagalog & English, he also spoke Ilocano & Pangasinan: The dialects of my late parents. William was able to find my parents barangay, which was not easy.

I am encouraging my children to visit the Philippines while they are still young: Don’t make the mistake your father made and visit when you are old. The only transport company I will let them use is Krian, and the only driver I will entrust to take them to their grandparent’s barangay is William J.
